GYMNASIUM AND STUDENT CENTER + SITEWORK
ONTARIO CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL
Ontario, California
This two-story high school gymnasium and student center serves as a central hub for athletics, wellness, and student life, balancing performance-driven spaces with flexible social and academic functions. The upper level features four adaptable classrooms that combine into a banquet and event space with an integrated kitchen. An open corridor overlooks the main gym floor and leads to outdoor terraces framing views of the athletic fields, campus, and surrounding mountains.
At its core, a 14,000 SF wood court accommodates multiple basketball and volleyball configurations for both competition and daily use. Supporting spaces—including the Knight Café, weight training, hydrotherapy, locker rooms, and administrative offices—are strategically arranged to streamline circulation. A prominent trophy case anchors the main entry hall, celebrating athletic achievements while guiding visitors to public amenities.
The facility now hosts major university basketball and volleyball camps, drawing participants nationwide, further elevating its profile.
Guided by the CUP Campus Master Plan Modification, site improvements reconfigure parking and upgrade field facilities, clarifying circulation and enhancing accessibility. Together, these interventions create a cohesive environment that supports athletic performance, student engagement, and community interaction, while reinforcing the campus’s identity as a connected, high-functioning academic and athletic center.
